Basic Video Making
The workshop is about teaching basic video skills and showing the various processes it takes to produce a video, ranging from how to set up a camera, ways to edit and how to upload videos on Youtube.
What will this workshop do for you?
By the completion of the workshop, you should gain a good level of knowledge and understanding of how to make a video. In turn this course should hopefully inspire you to make your own videos, whether it’s a documentary, short film or web show.
Who is this workshop for and who should attend?
This workshop is catered towards those who are looking to promote themselves through the internet and social media, or alternatively are looking to learn some video skills. I will be using a web-show specifically in this tutorial as it’s a great form of promotion that is directly aimed at the social media market due it’s episodic based structure. However at the same time, we will use the frame-work of the pre-recorded web-show format to help teach participants basic video making skills. This workshop is aimed towards enthusiasts, freelancers and independent business owners, so whether you are seeking to learn how to make a video, or are looking to create a web show to promote a particular interest or business, then this workshop is ideal.
Are there are prerequisites for attending?
Ideally they should have Windows Movie Maker pre-installed on their computer through the Windows Live Essentials package. The most recent package Live Essentials 2012 can run on Windows 7 (32 & 64 bit) and Windows 8 computers. This package is no longer available to download from the Windows website, so it would not be advisable to download it from a third party site as it may contain viruses.
If they don’t have a copy of Windows Movie Maker on their computer, then programs like Wondershare Filmora and Video Pad are good alternatives as they offer similar features to Windows Movie Maker. You can download copies of these programs, from their respective websites.
